I was born in Bogota, Colombia. When I was 5, we moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where our life of moving around started. In summary, I lived in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Dominican Republic before making my final move to the United States. I got my Accounting and my Finance degrees from McNeese State University.
Upon graduating, I moved to Houston, TX to start my career with KPMG in their audit practice. Initially, I was focused on expanding my knowledge in various industries, such as financial services, not-for-profit, manufacturing, building materials, and oil and gas (oil field services and upstream oil and gas). After 3 years, I started focusing in the oil and gas industry, specifically oil field services and upstream oil and gas.
As I continued to grow in my accounting career, I transitioned to Oasis Petroleum, where I developed a passion for teaching, inspiring, and challenging teams to maintain high quality work while thinking of ways to improve processes and implement new technologies.
Due to the passion I developed for teaching, inspiring, and process improvements, I joined Embark, where I focus in Financial Advisory Services.
When not at work, you can find me exploring the world with my husband and daughter, trying new food, biking, running, or hanging out with friends and family.
