Adam Olsen, CPA*
Managing director, financial accounting advisory practice leader
While originally a Chicago area native, I eventually ended up relocating with my family to the DFW area. I attended and earned my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
Prior to joining Embark, I had a boomerang career with public accounting. I started my accounting career with Deloitte in the audit practice. From Deloitte, I took a position as a fund accountant for a Dallas-based hedge fund before finding my way back to public accounting at PwC in their assurance practice. Over the course of 11 years at PwC, I served not only numerous clients but also held internal & national firm leadership roles focused on audit transformation and quality.
As Embark’s National Quality Leader, I oversee our firm's technical accounting, complex transactions, and capital markets advisory services across all our offices for our consultants.
In my role, I provide relevant knowledge and perspective on a variety of technical accounting topics including business combinations & divestitures, reorganizations & carve-outs, IPOs & SPAC transactions, revenue recognition, asset impairments, leases, complex debt & equity financing, and stock-based compensation to name a few.
My client service experience includes public companies, closely-held companies, including those with PE investment or ownership, multinational companies, and family-owned businesses in multiple industries, including financial services, consumer products, manufacturing, hospitality, energy, retail, and technology.
In my free time, I’m often found doing any and all things fitness-related, working in the yard, traveling, or dabbling with newly found hobbies like photography. I also enjoy spending time with friends, family, and my two dogs – Buddy and Grace.
