Sue Mallari, CPA*
Manager
I was born and raised in Jingmen, a small city located in central China. I moved to the US for college and I’ve since lived in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Virginia, and now North Carolina (my favorite so far!). I attended Georgia Southern University and obtained my Master’s in Accounting and in Education. After graduation, I moved to the northern Virginia area to start my career.
I worked at CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) before starting with PwC. At CLA, I helped clients with their day-to-day accounting needs. I also worked on system implementation and accounting clean-up projects, which I absolutely loved! After 2.5 years with CLA, I relocated to Charlotte and started with PwC in the assurance practice for Financial Services clients. Most of my time at PwC was spent serving a large Financial Services client. Through serving this large client, I was able to gain valuable experience in areas such as SOX controls, IT audits, and business process assurance. My experience at PwC also made me realize what I loved about my job was building and maintaining genuine relationships with people.
What excites me the most about working at Embark is the opportunities we get to create for our clients through working on projects we love! I look forward to getting to know our clients so I can better help with with their accounting needs.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my corgi (Porkchop) and cat (Pumbaa). I also like traveling, trying out new restaurants, and discovering new TV shows to binge on.
