John Kleindinst, CPA*
Manager
I was born and raised in a suburb of Buffalo, New York. For college, I attended the University at Buffalo (Go Bulls!), where I obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting.
Upon graduation, I had the opportunity to begin my career at KPMG in their audit practice, serving a variety of clients throughout the Northeast. During my time with KPMG, I focused on Healthcare and Manufacturing industries, gaining valuable experience with both private and public companies.
After four years with KPMG, I decided it was time to begin a new adventure. When I started my search, I wasn’t sure where I would end up - other than I needed to be somewhere with warm weather! It was important that I continued to build upon the valuable skills that I gained with KPMG. Embark checked all the boxes that I was looking for - their focus on culture and continued career development was the perfect balance, and I knew it was meant to be! With all of that in mind, I made the decision to move to Dallas, Texas and joined Embark as a Senior Associate in the Financial Advisory practice.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking (or trying out one of the many restaurants in Dallas), traveling, exercising and playing ice hockey. I also closely follow sports teams local to Buffalo, including the Buffalo Bills (#BillsMafia) and Sabres, even when they seem to let me down every year.
