I’m not from Austin but got here as fast as I could – by way of Dallas to attend The University of Texas at Austin where I received my Bachelor’s and Masters in Accounting. Next up was, you guessed it- time spent in a Big 4 audit practice! I spent 4 years in the Deloitte Austin office where I served a variety of industries, including manufacturing, insurance, and healthcare.

After my time at Deloitte, I spent 4 years in accounting roles ranging from Accounting Manager to Controller in Austin. What I learned from this experience is that a strong professional services provider can make or break the success of an accounting function. A provider who does not endeavor to understand the client they are serving, company goals or the culture of the organization will always end up causing more problems than they solve. I joined Embark because I am excited to bring a provider to the Austin market who will not only help you solve your accounting problems but will be a genuine pleasure to have in your organization.

I live in South Austin with my husband, who is a born and raised Austin-ite. He is a radiographer at Seton Main on 38th and Lamar where he was born- talk about full circle! We are also graced with the presence of the World’s Best Dachshund. Her name is Monroe and she would very much like to lick your face. I am a voracious reader and vocal user of the Austin Public Library system. I hope to be eulogized one day as ‘she was a book with legs’. My love of reading has brought me to many of my passions, including healthy living, minimalism, and personal finance. My happy place is any outdoor activity, followed by beer and queso.
