Kimmy Wong, CPA*

Senior associate

I was born and raised in McAllen, TX - a small town along the border in the Rio Grande Valley. Carrying the family tradition, I attended The University of Texas at Austin as a third generation longhorn (Hook 'em!) and graduated with an MPA, BBA in Business Honors and Accounting, and a minor in MIS. During this time, I interned in San Antonio, TX, with the HEB Grocery Company in their Financial Planning & Analysis department, focusing on CAPEX spend analyses and store profitability.

After graduating, I headed to Dallas and started my career with Deloitte in their Risk & Financial Advisory practice, where I traveled across the country and internationally serving clients from various industries - including consumer products, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and financial services. I then joined Ankura Consulting, specializing in litigation, corporate investigations, and M&A dispute work. Here, I gained experience in financial and accounting matters across the board, from conducting damage and impairment analyses to supporting expert reports on the appropriateness of revenue recognition.

Through my work, I've realized that developing relationships and helping others is what truly drives me. I have a strong passion for community service and cancer survivorship. I'm also a firm believer that the only way you can be there for others is by first being there for yourself - I'm a strong advocate for mental health and holistic wellness. This is exactly what drew me to Embark, a firm that wholeheartedly supports their people so that we can in turn support our clients! In my free time, you can find me sweating it out at a HIIT class, trying out new recipes on friends and family, and cuddling with my mini goldendoodle Oakley!
