Originally born in Tulsa, I was raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. I attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting. During grad school, I began studying for my CPA and completed all of the exams shortly after graduating.
After grad school, I decided to stick around in Oklahoma and begin my professional career at EY within their assurance practice. My primary focus during my auditing tenure consisted of construction and manufacturing clients. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working at EY while engaging with individuals around the country to organize successful audits for both public and private clients.
During the Summer of 2022, my wife and I made the decision to move down to Austin, Texas to experience a life outside of Oklahoma. While we miss cheering on our alma mater and the OKC Thunder, we have had a wonderful time experiencing the new city with its endless food options and outdoor activities.
The move down to Austin helped jump start the idea of new opportunities in life. Recognizing how much I enjoyed working with clients on a personal level, I felt that Embark allowed me the opportunity to engage with clients and help solve their problems as opposed to just observing from a distance. I’m very excited to to utilize my previous experience and knowledge within the accounting realm to help our customers solve new, challenging tasks!
